REGENERATIVE TRAVEL · MADEIRA & PORTO SANTO
Trusting an "eco" label was always an act of faith. Generant replaces it with a number. The Mark, 0 to 100, is what a stay or experience actually does for the land, the people and the local economy. Now in the app.

REVIEWS VS. THE MARK
Booking sites rank by stars: how good the trip was for you. The Mark shows the other half: what a place gave back to the land, the people and the economy it touched. Same booking. Two very different stories.
See assessed operatorsGOOD PEOPLE, GOOD PLACES
Tourism moves $11 trillion a year, and most of it never reaches the people who make a place worth visiting. The hosts and guides doing it right can't prove it, so a glossy photo outranks them. Generant gives them a number, and gives you a way to choose by it. Every choice adds up. Or doesn't.
HOW THE MARK WORKS
The Mark is scored against The Regenerative Tourism's open, public methodology. Anyone can read it.
Every operator completes a structured assessment against a public evidence rubric: 13 indicators anyone can read. Nobody pays to pass.
Three pillars, Footprint, Roots and Regeneration, combined into one number, 0 to 100.
Before you book and after you travel. Operators earn a number travelers trust; travelers build a record of the trips they chose.

New assessed operators, real impact stories, and where regenerative travel goes next. Once a month, in your inbox.
For Operators
You've watched a place with a glossy photo and an empty promise outrank you. Generant puts what your operation actually does in front of travelers who choose by proof. The assessment is free; you publish when you're ready.

Visibility that tells the truth
Differentiation that's earned
Demand from people who mean it
A clear path to a higher score
Part of a community, not a listing

THE TRAVELER APP
Plan your trips, find assessed operators nearby, scan each visit, and watch your record grow: the places, people and communities you actually helped. One trip is a choice. A year of them is who you are.

What is Generant?
Generant shows the assessed impact of tourism operators, stays and experiences, so travelers can choose by what a place actually gives back. Every operator has a score from 0 to 100 across three pillars: Footprint, Roots and Regeneration. Built on The Regenerative Tourism standard.
Is Generant Free For Travelers?
Yes. Seeing the Mark, exploring assessed operators and building your impact record are free. Generant shows the proof before you book; where you stay and what you do is your call.
What is the Mark?
The Mark is an impact score, 0 to 100, that shows what an operator actually does for the place and the people it depends on. It measures three pillars, Footprint, Roots and Regeneration, is assessed against a public rubric, updates each cycle, and is visible to travelers at the moment of booking.
How Do Operators Get Their Mark?
An operator completes a structured assessment across the three pillars and uploads evidence. It's rigorous but clear, and it saves as you go, so you can stop and come back. Assessing is free. Publishing the Mark in Discovery starts at €30/mo for founding members, with standard pricing applying to operators who join afterward.
How is it different from sustainability certifications?
Most "eco" labels are static, self-declared and hard to compare. The Mark is assessed against a public rubric, scores 0 to 100 across three concrete pillars, updates each cycle, and follows an open methodology anyone can read. There are no badges to buy, and nobody pays to pass.
Is Generant The Same As The Regenerative Tourism?
No. The Regenerative Tourism writes the standard: the public methodology behind the Mark. Generant is where that standard becomes visible and bookable: the app and the operator profiles.
