Live aboard a sailboat in Porto Santo with Piratas Aderiva — immersions, courses, community and creative residencies. Learn to live with the sea, not just visit it.
The Mark

Nine years ago, a Venezuelan couple bought a sailboat and moved aboard — with zero sailing experience. They learned everything from scratch and sailed all the way from Ireland to the coast of Portugal. Today they're based in Porto Santo, living and working on the water. Their boat isn't a holiday rental — it's a floating home, and an open invitation to imagine a freer life with the ocean. They believe travel can regenerate the relationships between people, communities and the sea. The boat works as a floating classroom for self-sufficient living, conscious sailing, and life in tune with the ocean. Every port they reach is a chance to learn, collaborate, and leave the place a little better than they found it.
